If you are using Miner Planner with mods that add a lot of chest types, the chest selection menu can expand far past the sides of the screen, taking any way of closing it with it. Oddly enough, the menu stays open even after saving and reloading the game, requiring to load the game with the mod disabled to fix it.
This is particularly an issue with the Merging Chests mod, which adds around 82 types of chests (2-42 both horizontally and vertically.) A quick fix would be to hide any chests that aren't buildable, But that may not be enough if you have several mods that add lots of types of buildable chests for some reason.
