I don't quite understand, you asked about it.

Please put the corresponding locale files directly into the mod itself, not into another language pack.

hmm. now i've done the extra work and i thought i'd help you with this

with what you want, I see no advantage, only difficulties:
i can't update the lang files myself and you can't change my mod. so what's the point. they will never be synchronised.
if i update my mod, then you have to translate the changes and then i have to update it again. this is no good solution.

in the beginning i created the mods with my language. until i realised that you can only see them if you set exactly that, otherwise you only see cryptic strings. that's why my mod used only has the default fallback language from factorio, which is always availble. no matter what the user sets as language. i don't even have my own language in it.

With the LanguagePack, this direct connection is severed and the mod and language can be customised independently of each other.

the only alternative would be automatic translation, but i don't like that at all for various reasons. and I haven't dealt with it yet either.

Do you have any other ideas?

In reality, you might only update your locale string once a year.

So I think there is no problem putting it together

When the locale is updated, we all need to wait for the translation

Finally, I still recommend putting an initial version of the built-in translation
