This mod is listed as a replacement of the Ghost in Hand mod. Does this mod do the same thing? It is not listed in the information tab, so I wasn't sure.

Ghost in Hand, simply replaces the item in your hand with ghost, when you run out.
i.e. if you have 10 belts in your inventory, and place 20, then the last 10 will automatically be ghosts.

Hmm, that seems to have been lost in all the updates,
i have never missed the feature (Factorio has build in support for ghost selecting),

Current functionality is limited to when you click to select an item from your toolbar (or similar).

I find I naturally left click to place, right click to delete. What ends up happening is that I inevitably end up with like 3 belts in my inventory. Then when I place belts, I get 3, then my cursor is empty, and I have to click belts again, to continue placing belt ghosts. Also, when I need to smart replace with an underground belt, but I have 1 in my inventory, it fails to place any, gives a warning, then causes belts to mix that shouldn't be mixing. Happens ALL THE TIME... getting frustrated.

i do not use the belt I use Q and Alt-G to craft a missing item
or simply build ghosts and Shift-Q to craft all ghosts

I mostly use bot building, so placing ghosts is most of the time what I want. However, if I have an item or 2 in my inventory, it will place the real ones first.

I have a crafting mall, so I don't hand craft. In fact, I just got the Lazy Bastard achievement.
