Hey. Me and a couple others are working on a fork that adds a (currently simple) remote API and we'd like to know if we can upstream it when it's a bit further along. Is that something you'd be willing to do?

Sure, i see you guys already released it since i was not active. I'll take a look into merging them.

Are you going to do 2.0? I ask because if not we will be, though I don't know when. We may end up keeping our fork at this point in any case I'm sorry to say, but I will forward this along to the rest of the team. It is kind of central to our experience, though we have not yet made significant changes from yours.

I've already done 2.0 if you look at the changelog. If you plan on doing frequent updates it probably will be better if you do it on your own fork.
