g [Implemented] A little bit more info in description

(updated 4 years ago)

Hi.

Sorry to be annoying. I was hoping to get an answer for some questions from the description information but its lacking a little bit.

Perhaps I can leave the questions here and you answer and update the information that with those? Sounds fair?

  • After the inventory grows, does it shrink back? I'd love a solution that lets me infinitely expand the inventory temporarily (such as when I am reworking chests and get all the items in inventory but then put the items back into the new chests)
  • If I mine a chest, does it grow automatically to fill all the chest in my inventory or do I have to keep spamming right-click for it to expand 1 by 1?
  • Is the current inventory size respected? As in, after it grows, does it go back to what it was before?
  • If for some reason the mod is removed, is the original inventory size maintained? (that I got via research)

Thanks,
Joao

  • Yes
  • The mod is configurable to give you any amount of empty slots you want (default 24). With 48 you can pick up standard full sized chests. With the default you need to click twice if the chest is full.
  • I'm pretty sure it can't shrink to less than what you have by default + armor. Was a while ago since I worked with the code in depth. I think it modifies the amorphous and generic "research extra inventory space" bonus, which probably means that that part can be negated by empying out your pockets.
  • Haven't tested. Probably not. And it's impossible for mods to "restore things" during uninstall. A deactivation command that you run before you uninstall could work. But seems like potentially a massive amount of work for minor gains.

Did some testing: seems like your technological research bonus is separate. Your researched slots are respected.
If you have a lot of things in your inventory so that your inventory is expanded then you keep the bonus slots when you uninstall. But if you empty your inventory (and have the bonus setting low enough that your inventory isn't expanded when your inventory is empty) and then uninstall then you have the correct amount of slots.

So you can easily do safe uninstalls with no leftover bonus from the mod if you just make sure your inventory size is regular at the time.

Sounds perfectly fair and acceptable.

Thank you once again for going the extra mile, appreciate it :)

I guess I have a new mod! :D
