i just updated from 18.1.5 to 18.1.6 and the game crashes completely upon loading my save with the following message
Unexpected error occurred. If you're running the latest version of the game you can help us solve the problem by posting the contents of the log file on the Factorio forums.
Please also include the save file(s), any mods you may be using, and any steps you know of to reproduce the crash.

i reverted back to 18.1.5 and i can load my save without issues
is this crash mod related, or should i also report it on the forums like the message says?

Could you give me your save that crashes please? And are you running the experimental version of the game (2.0.19) or are you on stable? (I'm on experimental, but I didn't see any changes that were relevant to the things I use in my mod, I don't think)
I am pretty sure it is my fault, somehow, but I just can't reproduce the crash with my save files

i'm on stable, but i thought to give the experimental version a try since you're on that one, so i downloaded it in a portable form, copied every file from the default path to the portable one (nothing was overwritten, or was asked to be overwritten) and the game still crashes, even with all other mods disabled

i included the log and the save file, it should be up for 3 days

I pushed 18.1.7, I was able to load your save no problem (jealous of your base, btw, I'm too stuck staring at lua to progress mine xd).

Yes, it is technically a game bug, and should be reported (the fact that it crashed), but I was being dumb and renamed a sprite prototype.
Now I have no idea why my saves weren't crashing. I will have to look into it a bit later, and file a bug report when I narrow down when it does and doesn't crash.

With your permission, may I upload your save when I get to filing the bug?

Also let me know if everything is OK with the new version.
