I have just found myself wanting to do something that would involve changing the factory connection settings via circuits. This is not current possible, but could it be? For example, using a circuit signal to change the power connection between input and output mode.
This is not a feature I intend to add. If you need backup or startup power in a power-producing factory building, it's probably best to generate some power in-place using a steam engine or two. Power will only be sent out of factory buildings if the machines inside are fully supplied with power. Burner machines might also help.
The goal was actually to set a building as a massive accumulator bank, which would involve detection for when to charge and when to discharge since it can't do both at the same time. Ah well.
