I can research and craft factory requester chests but can't see any way to make passive provider chests. Am I missing something?

Factory requester chests have the sole purpose of requesting your used factory buildings from a logistic system. Hover and press R to refresh the requests.

There is no such thing as factory passive provider chests. Regular passive provider chests work inside and outside of factory buildings, and regular requester chests also work inside and outside of factory buildings. Of course you need to research them first.

They're regular vanilla Factorio passive provider chests, just like the outside uses regular vanilla Factorio requester chests. You unlock them with a different technology.
