would it be possible to have a heat pipe transfer added( if its doable im happy to make it my self and share back though ill admit my understanding of lua itself is not ideal for the task )

Yes, it would be possible, but I have decided against implementing it, since it would pretty much eliminate the challenge of designing efficient nuclear reactors, without offering a replacement challenge. Reactors are the one part of Factorio where available space is by far the most essential to gameplay.

hmm i guess i can understand the logic, I'm playing with "realistic reactors" so the challenge is replaced with keeping them cool so they don't blow up which i just run a bunch of cooling water though the wall for - my only "issue' i ran in to is while i can easily fit 8 reactors and keep them cool i cant run enough heat exchanges to make it practical (there is no neighbor bonus on my play though )

You could try turning the heat into steam and then piping it from one factory to the next.

the issues is fitting the necessary amount of heat exhangers in one building they don't take out enough heat

so effectively he is right space is the issue
