FFF-339 Beacon Graphics


Alternate beacon graphics from FFF-339. Intended for use in other mods. You can disable the replacement of vanilla beacons in the mod settings.

This is an alternate look for the beacons taken from FFF-339. I thought they looked cool so I wanted to add them to the game. The images provided in the FFF post weren't released and didn't contain an alpha channel, so I had to manually remove the background. I have the skill of a 5-year-old using MSPaint so I couldn't save the lightning bolts and a lot of the details around the base of the machine were completely ignored or destroyed. The shadow had to mostly be remade from scratch. Despite my poor skills, the quality of the images provided by the WUBE blogpost were so high that the end result doesn't look too bad in game. If someone else with actual artistic skill wants to re-implement this, feel free to steal whatever you want from this mod.

This mod is intended for use in other mods. By default it replaces the vanilla beacon graphics, but you can disable that in the mod settings.
The BeaconPrototype uses a property called graphics_set that you can completely overwrite with a variable from this mod's sprites.lua file.
The combine_item_entity.lua file contains an example of how to do this.
Alternatively, you can ignore sprites.lua and use the graphics however you want.
