Being able to configure the drop rates of the different science packs per Color and biter tier could be a good feature.
Idk your drop rates, normally (vanilla) Yellow science is harder to produce than red. So should it drop as frequently as red science? In any case, you can leave your values and make it configurable. if the player can configure it, anyone can be happy.
The same kind of logic can be used for the biter tiers. The larger the biter, the more science (or rarer science) can be dropped. Again, if the player can configure it, anyone can be happy.
Btw, I'm not trying to give you a ton of work nor am I trying to "change" your mod.
I love your mod and I highly appreciate the time you must take to build and modify it.
I just would love to see it flourish!
