I booted it up and I replicated the effect, however I don't believe it is game breaking. If you edit the settings lower it works as intended. I think the best way to solve it is simply not maxing the settings.

Yeah I've tried making the resource patches reasonably sized but they either end up being too small and way too frequent, or way too big and rarely on the map at all.. It's not game breaking but I don't really have a map I would play on so I'll have to pass for now :p

When I added gold I wanted it to be in smaller patches around the map instead of the large resource deposits the game usually has. You could make a Quarry which will make gold for you.
