Exactly what i was looking for - the equalizer chest didnt work as i expected. this one is doing a really good job

Equalizer chests are a little more flexible, but the mod has to be careful for performance reasons. D-Load chests are just long skinny vanilla chests, so they have exactly the same performance impact as a single chest would.

Hah, this was actually my mod. I just started factorio up again and saw it in the mod list. GJ :p

I started using it in my own game, and realized it doesn't support circuit connections yet. sigh
