g Is balancing in the works?

Any way to get these updated to be less "cheated" as in they'd be maybe balanced around using a lot of power and actually use the modular suit power etc; more expensive and maybe have specialized roboports that are bigger in size etc.

Want to add these to a multiplayer playthrough but as it stands right now it just feels too cheated you get 10 of these at the very start and they don't even require power to use etc.

Thank you!

I'm not sure that that kind of balancing is really necessary.
Those types of cases are already covered by things like bots, bots, bots!, which just extends the existing bot system.

Waiting until you have advanced circuits (for suit power/modular suit) means you're practically at the bot stage anyway. And this mod doesn't provide much advantage over the existing construction bots system.

What I can probably do is add a configuration for how many you get at the start, and a range limiter, but that's probably as far as I'll go in terms of balance.

Just to be 100% clear what I have in mind when I ask for this is that I just want it to not be "free" if that makes sense. Like to be able to use this in a modded multiplayer game with a group and not have it be like a replacement for construction bots that you get the moment you spawn in. I can see this mod being added to bigger modpacks esentially.

So in my head what I envision for a change like this is the following:

  • Research sometime after modular armors
  • Uses energy to function when you send them out to do tasks (can be more than logistics bots because they're pretty good)
  • Is expensive to craft (I'd imagine using parts like steel, blue circuits, motors etc)
  • Has limited usage meaning that I cannot bring hundreds of them out by just putting them in my inventory. This can be accomplished by having specific portable roboports for these that are large and maybe have a cap of like 5 per specific bigger roboport etc.

The main reason I brought up after advanced circuits/blue circuits is because in mods where people would use this like space exploration to me putting it in modular armor stage would fit very nice in situations/mods where you get logistics way later in the progression tree (150 hours in) etc.

Thank you!
