To make some of space age's science packs more involved, the three inner planet sciences now take a base game science as an ingredient along with planetary resources.
- Agricultural science now uses chemical science, plus normal ingredients
- Metallurgic science now uses production science, plus normal ingredients
- Electromagnetic science now requires utility science, removes accumulators from the recipe to avoid battery shortages
- Space, Cryogenic, and Promethium science are unchanged since they are dependent on either space platform materials or planetary imports, so adding a science pack to their recipes would be less interesting.
Some infinite technologies have also been changed to require space and utility science, and steel productivity now requires metallurgic science to be aligned with plastic and scrap recycling productivity also requiring planetary sciences.
