For anyone looking, I just updated this mod to work on 1.1. It's called ClosestFirstOneDotOne. It should show up in the in-game mod search as "closest first for 1.1" . If not, you can DL it here https://mods.factorio.com/mod/ClosestFirstOneDotOne
All I did was change the required game version. No other code was changed, and it seems to work fine.
