Unsure of what recent change happened concurrently. Menu icon at top left is no longer available. I believe it disappeared before starting new map. Uninstalling/reinstalling mod doesn't bring it back.

Hmm, it's unlikely that you read this response, I suppose, but have you unlocked "Construction Robots" research? You will need it researched so that the button at the top left will appear again.
