I don't know if i want to go through with this or not, but i am working on adding scanners to the orbital radar. These will be progressive scanners that start at the edge of the orbital radar's main area and work their way out to a user defined edge.
I have - so far - added in two research paths for this:
- Scanner up to level 10 - adds in up to 10 scanners depending on researched level.
- Scanner speed: increases the rate at which the scanners run. This is an infinite research tree with logarithmic scaling of requirements for research.
The scanner technology would not be researchable until you max out the orbital scanner research.
