Better Bots Technologies (Updated)

Adds more technologies for roboports and robots, including additional roboports charge pads and expanded bot power cells. Instead of giving them out for free like many other mods, this one strives to blend into the existing game balance. Updated to 1.1.x by jollywalrus and Walkman100

g [Resolved] Why remove wired and power fields?

Title. Why was it removed?

Also can you mod to allow for more actions per tick? Like maybe up to 20 updates per tick? Current max is 5. I’m not sure what would hit the limit but I think 5*60=300 bot updates per second and with tens or hundreds of thousands of bots I think that’s a long time before all bots are analyzed.

As I mentioned in another thread, because it's buggy and kind of a hack - I'm not fond of invisible power poles that are added and removed by script, they break fairly easily. If they are actually used I could add them back with a setting, but I wanted to reduce the complexity of this fairly complex mod.

I can increase the max updates per tick, however it doesn't sound like it does what you want it to - the mod setting for this mod changes how many roboports are upgraded per tick, not anything to do with bots. The bot capacity upgrades are handled completely by vanilla Factorio.

If you want construction bot update speed, there's a great mod for that: https://mods.factorio.com/mod/DynamicConstructionQueue
For roboport upgrade speed, I think the intention is to not completely kill your power network - upgrading 1000 roboports in a tick could probably be handled fine by the game engine

Any chance they could be brought back with some sort of toggle? My base relied on the roboport power fairly heavily and it's infeasible to fix.

Hmm, yeah it should be pretty easy to add it as a startup setting

Ok, update released, I've done testing in creative with both the setting on and off, but it's possible there's a bug in normal sandbox that I haven't seen.
