b Tech Tree Problems

As already mentioned in the thread about the blue science, there are still some problems with the tech tree. Those can all be collected in this thread.

  1. The Monel Problem:

To craft monel you need nickel, and therefore the monel tech comes after the nickel tech. Problem is, that some early buildings requires nickel and monel. Even if monel is researched, to actually craft it, one needs said early buildings.

  • Nickel needs garnierite, which can only be mined with blasting fluid. Somewhere in this production chain, nitric-sulfuric acid mixture is required. This can only be crafted in the Standard Chemical Reactor.
  • The blasting fluid also needs light oil. To build the first refinery (Fractional Distillation Column) one needs reinforced concrete. The required calcium oxide can only be crafted in an electric furnace, though.

My suggestion for a solution is, to change the recipes for the Standard Chemical Reactor, the Electric Refining Furnace and the Electric Foundry Furnace, so that they don't require nickel or monel anymore.
