Toxic Waste

Every recipe now also produces 1 additional Scrap which you must sequester. Be careful not to turn your base into a toxic waste dump because only 1 thing can purify a Sacrifice Zone- fresh blood!

Do you plan on growing the mod with new recipes? Like X scrap needed to make 1 iron plate? I see great possibilites with this mod :)

Yes, I do have plans.

However, my plans are that Scrap is useless. It has no uses, can't be burned for fuel or used as any ingredient. The point of scrap is that is is useless and the point of the mechanic is to make pollution a second enemy.

ATM, I do have 1 recipe that uses scrap as an ingredient. I have not released this yet but I have made a "garbagefill" tile, that is much like the landfill tile, except that it produces, rather than absorbs, pollution.

I've just released the garbagefill feature. Please let me know if you have feedback.

Thanks for ansewering again.

Oh, it's nice to get your POV, and i like the idea of making polution more relevent!

Sounds useful and hardcore. I'm guessing it would produce pollution at a small rate?
I'll let you know ;)

Garbagefill actually emits pollution orders of magnitude faster than any other item absorbs. The fastest absorber of pollution is the water-tile, with a pollution_absorption_per_second or 0.000005. The garbagefill tile emits pollution at -0.001 pollution_absorption_per_second.

Thats sounds harsh! However i like the potential choices it gives us in-game.

I really like this idea of garbage-fill! Its a super interesting trade-off where you can use it to compress your scrap by placing it down, but it increases the biter threat. There's strategy as well with where you place it and when. Im gonna test it out in my next play-though

I've been toying with a few other ideas lately.

1) different tiers of garbage-fill
v0 - polluting
v1 - polluting and permanent, (but can be tiled over)
v2 - polluting and permanent, can't be tiled over.

2) Artificial black holes.
I'm working on an entity that can eat infinite scrap but if it's destroyed, it will leave behind a black hole. Anything that falls into the black hole gets erased and makes the black hole bigger!

We need an automatable way to deploy the garbage fill, (I assume just copy the code from the concreep mod) where some building just assigns bots to build the tiles in its construction area.
It should only make as many requests as there is garbage fill in the network
