My opinion on improving this mod is to delete it. Optionally hit ur head with a brick till you recognize your "opinion" is nothing but hypocrisy and deflection, while you are actively and willingly being a part of the problem you described.

I look at AI as subjective, as in there are good, neutral, and bad uses for it. I feel that AI assisted up-scaling is acceptable, but theft of work is not, but AI is also used in medical and scientific research, which is a good use. When I see things like this however, makes me think of the back-doors that AI creations have done also and that this "creator" should be thrown blasted with gamma-rays instead as they endorse theft of artwork and care not about using these piece of trash chat-bots over real work. The ironic thing is that AI is now on a downward turn as it is getting worse and there are less yields from them now.

To be clear, I also hate games that use only AI for art. That looks poor when all AI used games seems similar and not original.

I obviously think AI used for protein folding, upscaling, denoising and such are beneficial. Using AI to steal data and generate disgusting, ugly "art" and force my eyes to see it by posting it publicly online? Keep it to your selves or host it on a website for only you clankers to see.

The vast majority of comments in this discussion are pro gen AI use, or justifying it at the very least, and still many here are playing the victim.

In addition, many read with similar rhetoric to general libertarians, with an "accept it or you will perish" attitude.
I would not be surprised if many here would support deregulation of markets, privatisation of public sectors, and abolishing civil and worker protections.

In my opinion, as long as the gen AI sector remains hugely unregulated, any form of critique of gen AI content, the companies that own and train the models, and their advocate users, is justified.
I base this on the real world consequences gen AI has for many, who are directly or indirectly impacted by it, which includes you, if you are a working class citizen.

Whenever a new method is discovered that revolutionises any sector of any industry, the ruling class will abuse it to consolidate and accumulate wealth and monopolise this sector.
This is why most if not all gen AI projects that dominate the market are owned by very few, global corporations, while the rest of the working class suffers for it.

Nobody has anything against gen AI as a concept, as far as i can read between the lines. It is the specific implementation of gen AI that are the issue, implementations that are in use here as well.
While it is not morally reprehensible to live in a system that enables this and to use its means for your own survival, defending the system and its agents, which are responsible for your own suffering, shows a critical lack of awareness. Maybe educating yourself on the topic could be helpful..?

Critiquing the use of gen AI is not an attack on your person. If it does feel like an attack, I encourage you to take this as motivation to prove them wrong. Build your own gen AI models based on your own training data, or open sets based on work of people who have consented to its use in this fashion, and credit them in work generated by this model. If you follow all of these steps, i guarantee you there will be vastly less critique of your methods, and you would have solid standing against them. It could help with your insecurities, too.

Look up Ludditism in the early 1800s. By modern viewpoints and opinions, it would be considered beyond brain-dead. Luckily for us, that movement didn't win and got replaced by the much more industrially-sensible Socialist and Anarchist movements. The irony of bringing up Luddites and how this whole AI issue is just a movement is amazing considering how many times we've seen this same luddite argument for anything new that has this kind of impact. The most recent example that comes to mind is the widespread contempt for Photoshop, where the argument was it made faking images way too easy. Like, guys, we've had this argument many, many times before, tech is new, and yes there is potential to fake things, society has not collapsed because of it. There was contempt for the photograph even, small groups of people would be outspoken over it for various things like how it steals your soul, or it would be easy to fake evidence of adultery because you can fake a scene, take the photograph, and bring it to the police to frame someone.

This is not a new argument, not by a long shot. Tech has been making expression easier to attain, stop going over the deepend and saying AI shouldn't be used. It's a tool; get over yourself. Stop listening to Twitter and Reddit.
