b Recursive Spoilage

a month ago

I noticed a few items that have recursive/nonsensical spoilage and I wasn't sure if they were intentional or not:
- Spoilage <-> Yumako Mash
- U-238/U-235 <-> U-235/U-238 / U-238/U-235
- Barrel <-> Water Barrel (Kinda funny way to get water, actually)
- Asteroid Chunk <-> Itself

The first three don't make sense, but they don't really cause any major problems either.
The asteroid chunks spoiling into themselves is pretty annoying when on a planet (other than Vulcanus) though, since the only way to get rid of them is to destroy their container, or send them up to space to crush/toss.

I also noticed items with multiple recipes only spoil into the ingredients of one (e.g. Rocket Fuel only spoils into Jelly recipe items), but that might just be a deliberate choice I suppose.

The way it currently works is it looks for the best recipe based on a few factors and then uses that recipe as the recipe to spoil into, if I didn't do this you could have a few problems or have a few funny ways of getting items which I wanted to avoid. The recursive items are fine, I do enjoy the bad uranium to good uranium and will be keeping it. Spoilage to Yumako Mash is a bit of a challenge because it's unbalanced as all jelly goes into yumako.

Ah, I see, that makes sense. I also forgot about the existence of the recycler, which would mostly solve clearing up asteroid chunks planetside.
