g Marking trees as tall buildings makes trees black

As seen and already resolved in https://github.com/pyanodon/pybugreports/issues/1621

Enabling "invisible" tall trees creates a weird graphical glitch where trees become black forests.
Since this is a recent addition and there is no option to opt-out of this, maybe there could be a config option to enable-disable tall trees as an added feature of the mod?

Thanks in advance.

This is not what I've experienced - the hidden trees are transparent like any other hidden entity instead of black. Maybe another mod is interfering somehow? I'd appreciate you sharing your save file to help me diagnose the issue. I'll consider adding a config option, but would rather just make them behave like other entities for all users if possible.

Interesting. I did not open said issue, but I have encountered the same problem with pyanodon streamlined, so I figured I'd report it. Especially since I've had the same happenwhile using https://mods.factorio.com/mod/tall-entities-from-selection-box which does the same thing and marks trees as "tall". With either mod, even in a new save, regularly generated trees turn black.

I've managed to reproduce the bug with just the full py suite and streamlined in a new save, the attached savefile is here (https://files.catbox.moe/q7peyb.zip) and also an attached screenshot of the forest (https://files.catbox.moe/2lszph.png).

Thank you for the help.

This seems to be a limitation of the current tree shader used by the "show animated trees" graphics setting. See: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?t=136734

We'll see if it can be fixed soon. If not, the next version of py streamlined will not mark trees as "tall" and instead leave that up to users to add via a separate mod such as Tallify if they wish to play without animated trees.
