To clarify for others seeing this, it adjusts the recipes for molten materials so that you get more out of them, allowing you to ultimately have higher productivity per net input, with each tech tier being more potent than the last. It's especially noticable with stuff such as Glass where it can really make a huge difference between tech tiers in terms of energy efficiency, enough to make it feel very 'worth' it to gun for more advanced processing over simple brute force.
