Would be nice to have the option for the yellow indicator bar to show the total available fuel remaining instead of each individual fuel unit's depletion. Easier to get a visual indication of how much time/distance you have left with current inventory.

What will be the denominator for this visualisation then? If the total keeps changing I don't think it will serve as a good visualisation for time/distance left.

The purpose of the bar is to show you the fuel that's not in your inventory, which is otherwise invisible. I have made a new version with an improved drag handle (the current UI is draggable but nobody would notice) and a text display to indicate the total remaining time. This is a bit of an estimate because the Jetpack API does not directly expose that information, but should be Good Enough. I will see about uploading it tonight after some testing.
