I own Quake 2 in multiple different avenues; CD (physical copy) and Steam. However PC’s these days do not have the ancient technology of CD Drives.

What are your options to actually using the sounds that I “own”?

Hi sergeantblaze,

if you own a licensed copy we don't see any problem to reuse the pak file contents for our mod. You certainly can use the steam copy as well.
