I believe the intended behaviour is that they work identical to regular chem plants with this mod, however when placed inside Pressure Domes the building is flooded and requires atmosphere to work. (Works perfectly fine outside of domes)
Should be fixed in 0.18, though after posting it I realized that I never actually tested it...
