In other words, it first connects the poles at 90 degrees, and then tries to add more connections from those that were previously there but were not at 90 degrees.
Technically, if a pole was now able to connect to four of its neighbours at 90 degrees, then there will be one more connection (the 5th) left from the ones that were there before this tool was applied.
And the strict mode does not retain the former connections at all.
Right?
