Trigger rewards are granted immediately for triggers with no dependencies, or granted to the "real" technology that should unlock them, like chemical plants being unlocked by oil processing.

g Could use a setting to toggle Space Age techs

I personally just wanted this mod to remove the speed bump on uranium and oil. The code implementation was really easy to edit for individual techs, so I already got exactly what I wanted.

I'd however like to make the argument that the trigger techs work out very well for other planets, both from a narrative and exploration stand point. Turning it into a toggled mod setting, would also avoid something like unlocking heating tower without ever leaving Nauvis.

I don't mind adding some settings, but I had some pretty negative experiences on the other planets as well, like having to mine Calcite before you can make Foundries or mine iron bacteria before making biochambers on Gleba.

Any suggestions for exactly how the settings should be structured? One for all Spage techs? One for each planet? Probably not one for every individual tech

I can definitely see how it can be annoying on the other planets, and once I get used to opening on different planets, maybe I'll want trigger techs gone there too.

I think you can keep settings simple, and just add toggling the entirety of Space Age. If someone wants anything more specific, they might as well open the code and take out the techs they don't want to change. It's amazing how beginner friendly you made editing it. I'm fairly sure the average player could independently figure out deleting the right function calls, with little to no understanding of the code.
