I’ve updated the mod (1.1.0), adding a brush tool to the shortcut bar that you can use to draw mining scars manually. Shift-click for a circular shape, right-click for undo, and left-click drag again to deepen the scar. A setting must be enabled in the map settings to allow it to be used outside the editor.
