I can't figure out how to place a marker. Also the included readme file seems to be for another mod.

Hi,

open the menu by clicking on the "Marker" buton top left, select color and x,y if you want to have the coordinates shown in the marker.

Craft the marker tool from Crafting menu -> production -> dot marker, take it in hand and click where you want to have a dot.

Even if it has been ages since the question was raised, perhaps the answer will still be useful to somebody: Just take a marker item and use it on the marker on the ground that you want to remove. :-)
