I switched over to https://mods.factorio.com/mod/qol_research, it's nicely configurable and allows long reach research.

0.18 mods generally work in 1.0, QOL research is fine in 1.0, try it out. You can set it to long reach research only in the mod settings.

Alternatively, if you really want to use this mod, you can try changing the base version to 1.0 in the info.json file.
If it doesn't work, let me know, I will try to fix it and upload it.

the mod is no longer visible in the installer, because not compatible by default, but if we change it must first be put in the game, only now it has changed, only the 1.0 mod seems to be supported visually, it would be necessary to modify by default the original mod rather than to do it by hand, that is to say the editor of the mod must do it, it does not take a lot of time to do it, just need to put 1.0 instead of 0.18 in the file

the only solution I found is to put the game in 0.17 I review the mod in the list, I install and I put back in 1.0 then I modify the file again and it's good but if the editor of the mod made an effort to put it in 1.0 it would still be less complicated, it would download it automatically
