I need to ask this as I found I can place it's even through the map view when zoomed in and looking at my character.

This new Map view should add the possibility for RTS like build functions.

So with this mod, will I be able to build wherever I have a radar as well providing Line of Sight?

Right now, the limit is set to 10000 tiles away from character. A quick test with cheats let me place items far away where a radar was. I did notice I could not drag-place, though.

This mod simply changes a hidden setting in the game. I'm also not the original author of the mod. I posted an updated copy because I personally hate having to walk around in Factorio.

Fair enough, I think I should give it a try. There is another mod called FactoReach, it appears to function in a similar fashion to this mod. I might also be uploading an updated mod called Ships. Seeing as I'm unable to find the original anymore.
