My first thought to use these was to have some sort of grid formation. Due to the laser line being centered at the entity all the lines will cross at the center of all the tiles. Would be nice to be able to place Laser Lines so that each square in the grid formation is a placeable tile.
Need to think about this one... the centred beams make for very simple obstruction checks (and simple graphics), but I do see the attraction of using tile boundaries.
