say you are trying to put iron ore and coal into a furnace could it put the iron ore in the furnace and it would try and use it as fuel and thus becoming stuck?, i haven't tried the mod yet but i thought of this first.
Yes, it will put the ore into the fuel slot, which means you won’t need to feed any coal to the furnaces; just a full belt of ore :)
Inserters should be able to put the ore into both the fuel and ore input slots of the furnaces without any issues
