b Map generation bug

1 year, 10 days ago

Love this mod btw! I'm seeing a bug in the map generation. It started on Volcanus N, where it is not generating coal at all (proof in screenshot). Someone else from the Factorio Discord took a look and saw there are other planet surface copies that also don't generate certain resources.

I'm starting to think this was an (undocumented?) feature not a bug based on this source code: You can see N and S planets remove a bunch of resources, which is presumably why there is a "temperate north" and "temperate south" https://github.com/nicholasgower/intercontinental-rocketry/blob/main/prototypes/planet.lua

Yes, that is an undocumented feature. This mod is very incomplete, to be honest, and the current distinctions between planet sections are not well thought out. You can use the world generation menu, as well as Factoriopedia, to see which materials don't generate. I appreciate your interest in this mod. At the moment, I am focused on updating my fork of the Aircraft mod, so it might be a while before I'm able to dedicate time to this mod again.
