Automatically hide HUD when inventory is closed and show when opened. Or do it manually with hotkey.
Providing the player with new tools or adjusting the game interface, without fundamentally changing gameplay.
This is a useful quality of life feature as normally, due to the UI scaling I have set, the power indicator for a machine is cut off the bottom of the screen making it harder to tell what machines are fully powered.
