g The mod got retired in 2.1

Thanks for having made it.
The 2.1 adds a toggle to hide unresearched content but it was very nice to have this mod until now.
The 2.1 button still doesn't remember it's state between launches of the game, but I'll let them know and it will probably get fixed.

Yep!
Technically this mod does more than just Factoriopedia, but that was the main use.

I might still keep this mod around just for hiding menu simulations for people who want it.

I've initially missed it in the description, but this mod also hides stuff in other places, not just the Factoriopedia. I had a moment yesterday where one of the planetary workstations was shown in the tooltip of something, and turning on this mod did hide that.
You're doing a better job than the devs did after all, especially considering my bug report was declined and considered "pretty much a feature" at https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?t=134108.

Quote:
"Maybe there is part of the confusion. The setting was not implemented as a method to “avoid spoilers”. It was added as a method to reduce GUI clutter and confusion about what the player has access to and can use at that moment.

Factorio is not a game that involves surprises or spoiling things. The entire tech tree is visible from the first moment of the game."

In the meantime I can confirm that your mod works seemingly well on 2.1 once I updated the number in it's json file.
Honestly pretty much the only thing it lacks is being automatic and I hoped the button was the devs' response to our issue.

So they added a new SetScriptVisible command (https://lua-api.factorio.com/latest/classes/LuaForce.html#set_script_visible) feature in 2.1. Maybe that could be useful for something.

Yes actually, that looks like it would allow this mod to un-hide items on the fly, without the clunky "quit to menu then change a mod setting" workaround.

Unfortunately my modding time is limited these days so I don't think I will be able to update the mod to use this new feature. I accept PRs though!

As far as I've tested it still works in 2.1 if you just change the version number.

I've uploaded a 2.1 version for people who want it, but it does not use set_script_visible (yet). Maybe in a future version if I get a chance.
