Every time I load a game I have to adjust my speed again to get this mod working.

I just tested the settings. Can you check something please? Open the mod settings from within the main menu and check if the value is 0. If it is indeed 0 then change the value there and it'll be the same for all future games you start.
Right now the value you set within the main menu will be used when you load a game even if you change it later within an ongoing session.

I have the same problem. When I load again the same game the speed down 0, but in settings put 10000 and is activated. I think something is wrong.
