I'm not super sure about the approach used by Electric Gun Turret. It uses some kind of hidden electric-energy-interface object and processes power usage in control.lua, which is quite heavy compared to letting the engine handle it.
Turrets need energy source is much closer to my mod in terms of implementation, but it requires Space Age. Looks like it makes similar changes to the rocket turret, something I haven't bothered with yet. So that's a reason to prefer it over mine.
