It often throws you right next to the ocean and spawning 1 or more of the smaller starting patches in the ocean thus only having a scattering of a few ores around the edges where the ground comes back(Often this is either coal or iron deposits)
This when combined with railworld like settings(Where this mod shines) can lead to a mad rush for expansion to try and get more coal and over extending yourself
