Could it be that you had your companions out while on the platform and then you dropped down ? I feel like companions shouldn't be allowed to live in space, the same way drones aren't. Only in item form, and maybe only inside the platform's inventory itself, not on the player's inventory, to mimic how you can't bring anything else in your inventory when you go to a platform
