RTS-like scenario for Factorio. Player character is removed, all work must be done by bots

Solved, finally! My own mistake. :O
what was the solution?
You have to click into the chests, or click on items in the E-button menu (where the player would normally craft things). The menu/bar at the bottom of the screen doesn't do anything (at least that I can figure out).
