g too many gems ?

hey
any idea what to do with gems ? i already made them super rare and small so i have to explore a lot to find them then there is only like 40k patch of them but i checked and there are only few recipes for them , like 3 recipes for ruby and all 3 for items i never use much (ruby is ammo (i use other ammo anyway), module and laser def)
should i just trash them or i miss something ?

They used to be a lot rarer than they are now. Patches that contained only half a dozen tiles, each tile only holding upto 100 gems... the patches were way more common though.
The new resource autoplace system kinda screwed everything over, it wasn't intended to create patches of such small numbers, and while trying to replicate that functionality, the best I could do was a giant single patch that spawns rarely.

alright
lucky for me im already playing with unsorted gems ore setting so i just change drop rate for each gem to 1/400 what it was before and also trash 99,75% what i already have , so now when i find another 40k patch i will get around 80 diamonds , 360 rubys (without prod bonus) etc. makes sense to me they are also rare to find on map so ill be happy when i find next one and most imporant my heavy on productivity module gems factory make sense again :)

in game info on unsorted gems show product chance 0.22% ruby , 0.17% sapphire , 0.12% emerald , 0.1% amethyst , 0.07% topaz and 0.05% diamond - i hope it being so low doesnt break game or something and kill my save ?

well after some more thinking about it i decided to set 0,2% chance for all gems, with 40k ore it will be quite random anyway

Sounds like a reasonable way of doing it.
