Doesnt the Menu bother you?
Do you need it open all the time?
Maybe an option to toggle the Menu?
A Keybind? Shortcut?

Am I overseeing it? Otherwise this would be a cool implementation.

I don't think it's that big or intrusive, it only shows up while you're on Aquilo. The extra complexity that would come with a toggle and keybinds is not worth it at the moment.

Uh, so there's no toggle?
I installed the mod and loaded a save game. I re-saved and restarted Factorio but see no thermometer. I rebuilt the heating tower to try to troubleshoot, but that's not it.
However I'm using quite a bit of other mods, including Any Planet Start. I suppose the early-game access to the heating tower may be a different entity than the normally-researched heating tower.
Oh -- the thermometer probably loads itself when actually taking a rocket to Aquilo, which didn't happen since I started here on Aquilo (Any Planet Start)!

I took a look at the lua but can't confirm my suspicion.

.. .. if I convert the save to a scenario (I just clicked yes, I didn't change any settings) the thermometer appears!
And then when I convert to a save the thermometer stays!
