This mod revisits the early game of Factorio and pushes the electrification a bit further back by extending the Burner-Stage and inserting a new stage: Steam-Stage (buildings will be powered by steam).
I really like the way this mod adds some fuel refining aspect like coal/coke. But its steel making process that it adds is way too costly compared to the vanilla steel making not to mention the complexity of production chain.
For vanilla steel making, you need 5 plates -> 1 steel i.e. 5 iron ore for 1 steel
For amator steel making, you need 20 iron ore, 10 crushed coke, some stone brick for crucible -> 4 steel which basically the same ratio. (even the advanced recipe only reduces to 18 iron ore)
Given this, i am not sure anyone would ever use this recipe the moment they research vanilla steel making which makes the usage of crushed coke obsolete the moment we get out of steam age.
Either we remove vanilla recipe or make the amator recipe more resource efficient in term of coke and iron ore.
Yes, original recipies for steel by Amator are very complex with high cost of resources.
But the default behavior of mod - replace vanila recipe with 2 new recipe.
With Space Age you can have 3rd recipe from lava & molten iron on Vulcanus.
Maybe you are using some other mods, which return vanila recipe?
Alright, you are correct. I was looking through the factoriopedia and it shows the recipe. but when i try to research everything, this recipe is not available. Thank you !
I'll debug the factoriopedia. It seems to be hidden, but not ...
Tommorow maybe fixed it to reduce awkward moments.
There is in future plans starting integrate original entities and recipies into factoriopedia. But first of all with higher priority i want to update Amator's mods for version 2.0.
