they indicate which direction that value is trending and how quickly. useful for determining if the ETD of a given ore field is moving up slowly or down quickly
the colors just align with either of the up or down directions, with it being green or red being chosen by me as a gut feeling value judgement, i.e. green tends to be good, red not so much. and color intensity depends on how quickly it's going up or down
