YARM - Resource Monitor

by Narc

This mod helps you to keep track of your mining sites, with useful data such as the percent mined, and estimated time to depletion.

b [Fixed] Duplicate lines for each entry.

For some reason after update from version 0.8.210, all my resource patches are duplicated.
When I use resource monitor to track new patch it adds it twice as well.
I tried to reinstall the mod.
Same thing happens on a new save.

Can y'all post screenshots or better: Saves?

I think it's the newly added summary lines.

Is there a way to turn these off?

Just change the filtering for the summary in the settings. :)

Please tell us where to enable it in the settings.

I tried all the settings, but no success so far.
Just to be clear, I want the lines in the red box gone.

Have you tried setting the hours limit for the totals to 0?

I just tried it, I let it run for a while even saved and restarted the game, but didn't help.

Then please upload your savegame, maybe there's a logic error.

Here you go, hope it helps.

That uses unreleased mods, so i cannot actually run it. Please give me a savegame with this issue that uses only stuff from the official factorio mods site (and optimally from factorio stable branch too).

Oh, did you set YARM to show only sites with warnings?

Can we get an option (it would be best if it could be similar to toggle background) to toggle the total values for all resource patches of each ore in both the "full table" and "warnings only" modes? Or maybe have it toggle between per-patch and total modes.

Oh, did you set YARM to show only sites with warnings?

While testing yesterday I set it to show full, only later I set it to show warnings.

@NeveHanter You'd need to explain why. This is the normal way of playing the game: You have multiple patches per resource and a concern to know when things run out. As such, you mark the patches you're mining, and set warning levels for both individual patches, and for your total level of resources, and most of the time have YARM in "warnings only" mode. If you're playing in any configuration like that, it is easy to configure YARM to provide only minimal display until needed. If you're doing something so significantly different that the current methods do not suffice, you need to explain what you're doing and why it is incompatible, or provide pull requests on github if you don't want to explain.

@hanes Alright, so it's fine now. Yay. :)

@Stargateur I hope you understand that the fact you decided to speak strongly, and authoritatively, without providing explanation of what exactly bothers you specifically and how, does not motivate me to invest time, since i can't even tell if you are griping out of frustration, rather than an actual understanding of what is happening.

Ah nice, can you tell what the problem was?

I have just created new world with only YARM enabled

There was no problem. In all sites mode it shows all sites. In warnings only mode it shows only sites who are below the warnings levels in the settings.

I have just created new world with only YARM enabled

There's nothing wrong there, set it to warnings only mode.

So there is no way to turn these off when I set it to show all, besides to set it to warnings only? Maybe I'm missing something here, what's the use of these double entries?

@hanes Yes.

As i described here:

Also, just to demonstrate it in pictures:

Aah, that's like a total of ores combined at the top. That's indeed useful when you play mods like SE. It wasn't clear at first, especially I only just began my IR3 run and started adding just one of each type.

So, thanks for that feature and for your patience :)

After i added it i honestly stopped looking at the individual sites most of the time. :)

And yeah, i've been doing open source dev for a while and the main task is asking questions and listen to people's stories.

I think the first thing i need to do next is add a label to them that makes it clear that they're totals and not just duplicates.

label sounds good and should clear up the situation, just like a total or combined in front.

nice, thanks again.

It would be nice to be able to switch the view between totals and sites. Otherwise the list gets pretty big in some mods and I don't really see the point of having totals and individual sites in one big list.

Did you read the paragraph i posted above? I don't see you explaining why that doesn't work for you. I'm happy to change and improve things, but in order to do so we need to actually have a dialogue in which you help me understand what you're thinking.

I am playing PY mod and there are probably at least 40 different resources. I have just one site per resource, so with current mod changes my table is basically just double the size. I used to have it always open, so I could eyeball it if there is no bottleneck anywhere. Now when it is double the size, and wider than it used to be, I have to have it on warnings only, so it doesn't cover 1/3 of my screen.
I can imagine that means work for you, but I would rather not have totals.
And if you don't care that's fair enough.
Thanks for your work regardless. :)

How about this? Set it to warnings only, set total hours to 0, set resource hours to just above your longest resource site.
