I have the similar problem and have a diffrent suggestion about it. my suggstion and/or Question is : what do you think of the ability to sort them in the list. For example sort them after distance or richness or time?
They are sortable based on a setting (though not by distance from player, that's a nice idea!), but the display should at least be scrollable since one of the 0.17 versions. Regardless, it's a good thought to add more sort methods, and to show some UI for it. A search wouldn't be bad, either, or at least a per-ore filter.
